Meet the woman
behind the posts

My name is Emily and I am the content creator behind emilygoesplaces.com, a travel, outdoors, and lifestyle blog, and @emilygoesplaces on social. I've always been naturally curious with a desire to experience all life has to offer around me. I have an endless bucket list so follow me as I meet new people, go to new places, and experience as much as I can.

I grew up in Massachusetts, and am currently based in the Washington, D.C. metro area, but often explore Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. I enjoy collaborating with local creators, restaurants, event venues, etc.

Fun Facts:

• I've been to 23 countries and 42 U.S. states.

• I've had 2 hip surgeries, one per hip (for femoroacetabular impingement).

• I work a 9-5 and maximize my time exploring outside of work.

• I grew up with 2 Dalmatians and hope to get my own as an adult one day.

• I lived in Costa Rica for a year with a wonderful host family.

• I've been skydiving and bungee jumping.

• I am in a military relationship.

• I am a HUGE Boston Sports fan.

• I love to play Scrabble and other board games.

• It's my goal to visit all the Virginia State Parks.
